Replacement of the attic foundation insulation
Old or contaminated insulation shall be completely or partially vacuumed off during damage repair. The materials to be vacuumed can be old house insulation and sand as well as soft wool boards and blown wool. They are taken away for recycling unless they cannot be reused.
After the suctioning process, it is possible to install a whole new air sealing paper in place of the old or torn one. In the case of vapor barrier plastics, it is usually sufficient to locate the points that are not tight enough, and seal them.
The IV duct insulation will be inspected, any uninsulated ducts insulated and ruptured insulation will be patched. Wool slabs which are not fire proof, are installed in block or concrete flues. All rubbish and building debris are cleaned to prevent moisture accumulation. The whole layer of wool should also be so tight there is nothing in between. Old coating paper may remain over some of the wool boards.
Ventilation is extremely important. On attic foundation repairs, ventilation comes through the eaves of the building, sometimes even through the end valves. If needed, we will add them, or install a ventilation pipe on the roof. On concrete or hollow slabs, installation of wind deflectors is easier. In confined spaces and fragile attic foundations, ventilation may be protected by wool boards that allow blown wool to be installed closer to the edges of the structure.
Finally, a new wool chosen by the client is blown to replace the insulation.
Our goal is to carry out our construction projects with pride.
The structure to be renovated can also be a flat roof, from which Leca gravel and other materials are vacuumed and replaced with new or other insulation according to the repair plan.
